Introduction

This guide is an introduction to sources of information on Criminal Justice in the United States that are available at URI. It describes types of materials and provides selected items in each category.

To find book information, search the catalog under such subjects as: Crime, Criminals, Criminology, specific crimes (commercial crime; computer hackers, murderers, sex offenders, terrorists, violent offenders, etc.), age & gender (Aged offenders; Female offenders, Juvenile delinquents, etc.), Fugitives from justice, Recidivists, Social work with criminals. TIP: Search for Crim* to return results beginning with crim- (including crime, criminal, criminals, criminology, etc.)

Where to Start Your Book Search

There are three main places to start your search for books. Each has a different specialty and scope.

Where are the criminal justice books?

Most books about criminal justice are located on the third floor in the HV section and KF section.
