Landscape Architecture

Searching the Catalog

The URI libraries collectively house over a million books that support the curriculum and through the URI Libraries Search, URI students can also access books from all URI campuses. To perform a basic Keyword Search in the URI Libraries Search, you should think of words that are relevant to your topic and type them into your search boxes. A simple search could be:

Keyword Search: "landscape architecture" AND design

Once you click the 'Search' button, a number of book titles should appear on the screen. You can then browse through those titles and click on the ones that sound appealing to you. That will take you to the record of that particular book. Inside the record, there are Subject Headings that you can click on to find more related materials.

Subject Heading: Landscape design

Once you have found a book that might be useful to you, make note of the location of the book and the call number. If the location is given as Carothers, then the book is part of the Carothers library collection on URI's Kingston campus. If the location is anything other than Carothers Stacks, Carothers Govt Pub or Reference, you may request the book from another library. Books requested through this way should arrive within 2-5 business days.

If the book or article you desire is not available through the URI Libraries Search, you can request it via an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) - click here for more information about ILL.
