Library Frustration Relief

Here are a few tips to help you navigate the library more successfully:

  • Understand the instructor’s assignment.
  • Allow a sufficient time slot for research and for learning to use the library.
  • Start early in the semester.
  • Bring paper and a pen or pencil.
  • Bring your student ID or a few $1 bills and a flash drive.
  • Think of alternative topic words to describe your subject.
  • Check your spelling.
  • Read directions: look at signs and help screens.
  • Understand call number sequence and library locations.
  • Ask for help at the Reference Desk -- and ASK AGAIN!
