These databases are listed separately because most are available for free to anyone or anyone in the education domain (.edu). The following is but a small selection of useful databases.

Electronic access to a wide variety of information produced by the federal government. Full text sources include: Congressional Bills, the Congressional Directory, the Congressional Record, Congressional Hearings and Reports, the U.S. Code, Public Laws, the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Register, the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents, the U.S. Constitution, Supreme Court Decisions, and more. - What’s included? Comprehensive source of current and historic oceanic, atmospheric, and geophysical data.
- NTIS LibraryDatabase produced by the National Technical and Information Service, which publishes and distributes government produced scientific and technical literature. The Library as Federal Depository Library has access to reports that are available in full text but they can only be accessed within the Library. Reports not available in full text may be purchased through the database.

Offered by the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics, this site provides citations and abstracts for transportation research covered in books, journal articles, technical reports. Other media, federal, state, local, and association publications and conference proceedings are also covered.
- What dates are covered? From the 1960s to the present, with some coverage before 1960.
