There are four places to start the online component of your search for books. Each has a different specialty and scope. (Also see the “Finding Additional Resources” tab for more information on published bibliographical and biographical resources.)
Search the catalog for likely terms: Meiji and history, for example. Look at your results. If you find something that looks interesting, and you want to see similar results, click on the Subject – this will take you to other books on the same topic.
If you find books that appear in the Libraries Search but aren't at your library, you can request them, and they will be sent here within 2-3 business days. If you locate a book in a library outside of Rhode Island, you can request the book through Interlibrary Loan. These requests generally arrive within one month.
