Data Management

What is the DMP Tool?

The Data Management Plan Tool (DMP Tool) was originally a grassroots effort, beginning in January 2011, created to respond to demands from funding agencies, such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The DMP Tool can help you tailor proposals to specific funding requirements.

The DMP Tool will help you:

  • Create ready-to-use data management plans for specific funding agencies
  • Meet funder requirements for data management plans
  • Get step-by-step instructions and guidance for your data management plan as you build it
  • Learn about resources and services available at your institution to help fulfill the data management requirements of your grant
