The Robert L. Carothers Library and Learning Commons contains a wide variety of books to support your course work in GSLIS. Whether you're exploring issues in reference, technology, cataloging, management, ethics, archives, or information literacy, the library offers both print and electronic resources to meet your needs.
Search the catalog by keyword, subject, author or title. Identify the items you need and follow the Library of Congress call number to the proper locations.
Google Books and WorldCat are also important resources for book searching.
These books provide a starting place for research and exploration in the field of library and information studies.The reference materials on this page can help you gain a broad overview of librarianship, decode library jargon and abbreviations, and begin to understand the language of cataloging. Reference books are located in the Reference section of the URI Library, Kingston campus; they are for "Library Use Only" and may not be checked out.
