This guide is an introduction to selected sources of information on Journalism Research available at URI. It describes types of materials and provides selected items in each category.
To find additional book information, conduct a subject search in the library catalog using subject headings such as: Journalism; Journalist; News Media; Radio and Television Broadcasting; Mass Media; Photojournalism; and Investigative Reporting. When searching the library catalog, entries for items owned by the University of Rhode Island Libraries appear at the top of the list and include information about location and availability. The Library of Congress Subject Headings will help identify appropriate terms.
There are two main places to start your search for books. Each has a different specialty and scope.

Books about Journalism are located on the second and third floor and fall within the following general call numbers. If you find a book that you are interested in, take a look around it and you will find additional books on your subject in this section.

Keep in mind that additional books can be found outside of these call number ranges. For example works on Communication in Politics would be found in the call letters H, JA and JF.
