The URI Libraries now offer the "Lean Library"  (formerly "Library Access") web-browser add-on!

• This add-on has been fully customized for the use of URI students, faculty, and staff.
• It presents available access options (including open access and inter-library loan), whenever one navigates to a webpage with licensed content behind the paywall, whether it is an online database, a scholarly article, or an e-book. 

Download and install the "Lean Library" add-on to make the best use of the URI Libraries' licensed resources during your research and study!

• After installation, make sure click the gear icon & select "University of Rhode Island" as your library in the Settings.

After you install the Lean Library plugin, you'll see a green icon in your browser.

When you visit a site that URI has access to, you'll see a pop-up that connects you to our proxy server to gain access via URI.

If you have already logged in, you'll see a brief pop-up to let you know you have access to the full text.

If you're browsing Amazon, Lean Library will tell you if we have a copy of the book you're looking at.

If we don't have access to an article, Lean Library will let you know how you can request it.

Some websites may require a separate sign up to get access. Lean Library will connect you to the information you need to get full access.
