  • BrowZine (mobile app for browsing URI's eJournal collections)
  • LibKey Nomad (browser extension that connects you to the full text of articles via URI)

BrowZine

BrowZine is the world’s most popular journal engagement platform. You can select your favorite journals and browse their issues with ease through the URI Libraries.

  • Access
    • Tap on the app icon to open BrowZine app.
    • A list of libraries will appear, please select "University of Rhode Island."
    • Use the Subject drop-down menu to browse by subject categories or Titles A-Z to find a specific title by name.

 

How does it work?

Whether you connect via the app or the website, you'll land on URI's BrowZine homepage. From here, you can search for a journal by title, subject, or ISSN, and save articles to your account for later use.

LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension available for Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave and Vivaldi browsers. 

  • Once installed, the LibKey Nomad automatically displays its icon at the left bottom corner as shown below, when you are in a webpage that lists a scholarly article with a DOI.
  • Get the full-text article by clicking the "Article Link" or "Download PDF" icon and authenticate through the URI SSO.

How does it work?

When the LibKey Nomad Browser extension is installed, you'll see a green icon in your browser's toolbar. As you browse for journal articles, a small pop-up will appear in the lower left of your browser that, when clicked, will provided access via URI's subscriptions
