- What’s included? Online access to more than 100 historical African newspapers. Created in partnership with the Center for Research Libraries and its contributing members, this collection provides news and perspectives from a wide range of counties and cultures and chronicles the evolution of Africa through eyewitness reporting, editorials, legislative information, letters, poetry, advertisements, obituaries and other items.

- What's included? Hundreds of newspapers, from across the country, published within prisons by incarcerated persons. Represented in the collection are penal institutions of all kinds, with special attention paid to women's-only institutions.

- American Underworld: The Flash Press (Newsbank) This link opens in a new window

- What's included? More than sixty newspapers from the collections of the American Antiquarian Society. The Flash Press arose and crested between the 1830s and the 1850s. These papers covered the seamier aspects of urban life: crime, scandal, brothels, and blackmail, combined with reviews of the bawdiest theatrical performances on offer and reports on sporting events such as cock-fighting, boxing and horse racing.

- What’s included? Newspapers promoting and opposing white supremacy, published mainly in the 1920s. It brings together for the first time local, regional, and national newspapers published by Klan organizations and by sympathetic publishers from across the US. - What’s included? Digital collection of the alternative press including newspapers, magazines and journals drawn from the special collections of participating libraries. These periodicals were produced by feminists, dissident GIs, campus radicals and the New Left, Native Americans, anti-war activists, Black Power advocates, Hispanics, LGBTs, anarchists, the extreme right-wing press and alternative literary magazines. When completed, the Collection will represent complete runs of over 1,000 titles and 1,000,000 pages.
