Reserves: Home

The Reserves collection contains material designated by university faculty as high-use or required readings for specific courses. Items on reserve for a course may include books, and special items loaned by faculty. A number of high-use items unrelated to specific courses are also located on reserve.

Some material on reserve is also available digitally through Sakai.

This purpose of this guide is to

  • Provide faculty with the procedures for submitting items for Reserves
  • Offer students step-by-step instructions on how to access both print Reserves and e-Reserves.

How to Find Materials on Reserve

Items on reserve are listed in the Library catalog and Sakai.

Print items listed in the catalog can be searched by course name or number or by instructor.

For copyright purposes, only those with a valid URI Sakai User ID and Password can access the E-Reserves on the Library's Sakai page.

The steps for how Reserves material can be accessed are explained on the following pages in this guide:

  • Accessing Reserves, Print Materials
  • Accessing E-Reserves Using Sakai
