International Students Library Guide

This guide is designed to help international students use the URI Libraries.

Welcome!

Welcome to the University of Rhode Island! We hope that the University Libraries will be a home away from home for you and your research.  You will find the friendly librarians at URI to be an indispensable resource for your academic success.

Wondering what you can do at the library?  Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Find and check out books, DVDs, CDs
  • Access electronic journals, magazines, e-books, and scholarly websites on public computers or your own device
  • Borrow materials from other libraries
  • Ask a librarian for help with your research
  • Copy and print materials for personal or academic use
  • Meet with your classmates to work on a project
  • Meet your friends for a cup of coffee in the 24-hour room

When you visit the library, make sure to bring your ID (to check out materials!), writing utensils, and a plan for backing up your work if you're using the public computers (e.g. flashdrive, Google Drive, OneDrive).
