Loan periods for books

Books, including some government publications, are loaned to borrowers for 28 days. 

Faculty and graduate students receive a 120-day loan. 

Charge-out procedures for books

The book(s) to be borrowed and a validated University ID card or a Rhode Island Resident Card are given to the circulation attendant who charges the book out. The date due will be stamped on a slip in the back of the book.

Serials (journals, magazines, and newspapers) and reference books do not circulate. Fines are imposed for overdue items.

Loan periods for laptops

Laptops are loaned to borrowers for 3 hours.  Laptops may be renewed for 3 hours if no one has requested their use.

Charge-out procedures for laptops

Laptops are available on a first come, first served basis and may not be reserved in advance.

The intentional downloading of unauthorized software is forbidden.

You may not check out a laptop if you have fines of $50.00 or more or any billed items against your record, until you clear your record.
